Megan believes in the importance of helping each child feel seen, heard and validated in their life experiences and challenges. Through play, Megan is able to connect with each child and help them learn how to understand, cope with, and communicate their natural big emotions that we all experience. She believes each child has the unique ability of resilience to overcome life’s challenges and to reach their full potential.
Megan provides therapy by working to understand the child and family holistically. She believes in creating a collaborative team-based approach with the child and family to work through life’s challenges.
Megan has a wealth of experience working with children throughout the various developmental stages. Growing up, Megan’s mother owned an in-home daycare. This is where Megan’s passion with working with children began. During college, Megan interned at Stone Oak Therapy in San Antonio and here she learned how delicate and important the nurturing of children was to help them develop. Megan went on to complete nursing school and has previously worked in the neonatal intensive care unit with one of the most vulnerable populations where she emphasized a family centered care approach. She has continued her nursing career working at Texas Children’s Hospital. During this time, she has worked with children and families with developmental disabilities and behavioral challenges and truly understands creating a strengths-based approach in helping all children and adolescents live to their fullest potential.
Megan completed her graduate practicum and internship at Memorial Child and Family Therapy under Michelle Collins. Here she worked with children, adolescents, families and assisted in social skills groups.
